2008 24 uur / hours Le Mans
		2006 Zag de komst van de dieselmotor naar Le Mans. Het aangepaste reglement hielp wel een beetje, maar Audi kwam, zag en overwon als eerste fabrikant in de moderne geschiednis op Le Mans met een diesel. In 2007 kreeg Audi gezelschap van Peugeot dat een jaar achter liep. In 2008 lagen de snelheden onwaarschijnlijk veel hoger en was Peugeot absoluut de snelste, maar de ervaring van het Audi team en de betere handling op een natte baan zorgen voor alweer een Duitse overwinning. 2006 Saw Audi come to Le Mans with a diesel engine. The rules helped them but the rest they did themselves: winning at Le Mans with a diesel for the first time. In 2007 Peugeot joined them. The French were a year behind in development and the expected battle stayed out. In 2008 the speeds were much higher, and was Peugeot the quicker of the two. But the experience and bad weather helped the Germans to another victory.

Net zo oppermachtig was de - voor Europa nieuwe - Porsche RS Spyder in LMP2, met in de hoofdrol het Nederlandse team Van Merksteijn Motorsport Peugeot dominated the races in the Le Mans Series in Europa in LMP1. Just as dominating in LMP2 was the - new in Europe - Porsche RS Spyder, with a glorious role for the Dutch Van Merksteijn Motorsport Team.

		Het FIA GT kampioenschap blijft een competitieve serie, hoewel de vierde titel op rij voor het Vitaphone Maserati Team anders doet vermoeden. However the Vitaphone Maserati team won the FIA GT Championship for the fourth time in a row, it still is a very competitive racing series with lots of different cars.

The 24 hours race at the Nürburgring is different from other 24 hour races because of the enormous amount of contenders and its diversity and the Green Hell itself ofcourse.
