1974 24 uur / hours Le Mans
		In 1974 was Ferrari, de belangrijkste tegenstander van Matra niet meer actief op Le Mans. De nieuwe vijanden Porsche en Mirage waren nog niet sterk genoeg om de Fransen van hun derde opeenvolgende zege af te houden. Ferrari was not present at Le Mans in 1974 and Porsche and Mirage were not strong enough yet. So there was no one to keep Matra from its third win in a row.

1974 1000km Nürburgring
		De sportscars overheersten de 1000 kilometer race, daarachter volgden de nieuwe turbo RSR's en een prachtig gevecht tussen de GT's van Porsche en de Capri's en BMW CSL's. The sportscars ruled the 1000 kilometer race at the Nürburgring. Behind that the new turbo RSR's followed.

1974		Diverse races / others races In de Verenigde Staten werden ook in 1974 een aantal vooraanstaande kampioenschappen gereden zoals van de TransAm GT en CanAm. Het WK spotscars deed Watkins Glen aan. In Europa waren de toerwagen en sportscar kampioenschappen populair. The TransAm GT championship and CanAm series were some of the best reacingseries from 1974. The world championship visited Watkins Glen. In Europe the Touringcar and Sportscar championships were popular series.
