1973 24 uur / hours Le Mans
		1972 Was eigenlijk een beetje een sof. Twee sportscar fabrikanten die elkaar het hele jaar ontliepen: Ferrari wint alle WK-races maar doet niet mee aan Le Mans. Matra laat het WK aan zich voorbij gaan en zet juist alle kaarten op de Franse 24-uurs race. In 1973 ontmoeten de twee elkaar wel het hele seizoen en alsof dat nog niet genoeg is doet Mirage mee in de bekende Gulf kleuren en komt Porsche met een nieuwe super-GT de RSR. Matra wint uiteindelijk voor de tweede keer op rij in Le Mans. 1972 Was a bit of a disappointment. Two great sportscar manufacterors that avoid each other the whole year. Ferrari competed in every WC race and won them too, except Le Mans. Matra didn't compete in the WC except for Le Mans, and won it. In 1973 they do meet the whole year, and are joined by Mirage - Ford in the famous Gulf livery and the new super-GT from Porsche, the RSR. Matra won its second Le Mans in concession.

1973 24 uur / hours Daytona
		De eerste race van het Wereldkampioenschap van 1973 was weer in Daytona nadat de Temporada van het programma was verdwenen. Ook ging de race als vanouds over 24 uur. En verrassend genoeg waren het niet de prototypes van Ferrari, Matra of Gulf Mirage die de winst pakten, maar een GT. De nieuwe Porsche Carrera RSR van de Amerikaanse importeur Brumos. The first race of the season was again at Daytona after the Temporada was skipped. And also the race was ran over 24 hours instead of last years' 6. To everybody's surprise the race was won by a GT. The new Porsche Carrera RSR of Brumos Racing.

		De overige WK races van 1973 werden gewonnen door Matra, Ferrari, Mirage en zelfs één maal door Porsche. De winst in de GT-klasse was iedere keer voor Porsche. The other WC races are won by Matra, Ferrari, Mirage and even once by Porsche. The GT-class is won by Porsche every occasion.

		In de USA waren de TransAm en CanAm kampioenschappen onverminderd populair. In Europa waren dat het Europees toerwagen kampioenschap en de heuvelklims. In the USA TransAm and CanAm were popular as ever. Here it were hillclimbs and the European Touringcar Championship.
