1969 24 uur / hours Le Mans
	.	Vorig jaar won de - in feite uitgehomologeerde - Ford GT40. Porsche zag het gat in de reglementen en bracht de waanzinnige 917 in kleine serie uit om zo deel te kunnen nemen. Maar het was niet de nieuwe 917 of de oerbetrouwbare 908 die won, het was wederom de GT40. Dit keer met Jacky Ickx die wandelend van start ging uit protest tegen de aloude Le Mans start. Last year the old GT40 won surprinsingly. Porsche saw the loophole in the rulebook and produced a small series of the blistering fast 917. But it weren't the new 917 nor the reliable 908 that won. It was the GT40 again, this time with Jacky Ickx who walked across the track as a protest against the old Le Mans start

		De betrouwbare en wendbare Porsche 908 was de ideale auto voor bochtige circuits als de Nürburgring en natuurlijk de krankzinnige Targa Florio. De fabrieks Porsches wonnen het WK sportscars voor Porsche. The reliable Porsche 908 was the ideal car for tracks like the Nürburgring and especially the mad Targa Florio. The Porsche workscars took the makes title for Porsche.

1969 Overige races / other races
		Aan het eind van het seizoen werd de 1000km van Parijs gereden op Monthlery. De race telde nergens voor mee maar trok toch een kwalitatief hoogstaand veld. De Matra's met hun huilende V12 motor wonnen. At the end of the season a large number of topdrivers competed at Monthlery. The non-championship race was the first main victory for the new Matra with its howling V12 engine.

1969 CanAm
		De McLarens waren nog oppermachtiger dan in 1968. De twee fabrieksrijders McLaren en Hulme wonnen samen alle wedstrijden. The McLarens were even more dominant than in 1968. The two factory drivers McLaren and Hulme won all races.
